Corbina Telecom, one of the four largest ISP in Russia, was concerned
by security of its customers and the level of infection in its networks.
Andrey Borisov, the head of Home Internet department of
Corbina Telecom talks:
“When the service deployment started we were shocked to find out that
about 25 per cent of our customers had their computers infected by an
entire wild park of malware where the latest samples co-existed with
those considered extinct by virus analysts. However, infection level
moved down rather quickly and we were able to regain control. Moreover,
Dr.Web AV-Desk server provides us with overall picture of infection
level on computers connected to Corbina Telecom networks. And I’d like
to notice that a number of support calls has decreased and work of our
technicians that connect subscribers’ machines to our networks has
become easier. Using Dr.Web AV-Desk (we held a tender and were able to
examine about 10 anti-virus products from Russia and abroad) has a lot
of advantages but the most important thing is that it can be launched on
a machine that turns out to be infected which happens rather often when
we connect a new subscriber. Besides, the solution can be run on the
wide range of client-machine operation systems— starting with Windows 98
and up to Windows Vista. We expect that Dr.Web AV-Desk will
significantly increase the loyalty of our customers”
